The Organizing Team is a group of service design aficionados who all share a common belief that collaborative spaces, tools, and design processes can be used to create effective and impactful positive change.

Yosef Shuman

​

Yosef Shuman, a human-centered service designer, has spent over a decade researching, designing, and delivering innovative services and experiences across the public and private sectors. As an early adopter and practitioner of service design in the US, Yosef has been a thought leader and advocate for the value this emerging field brings to the table: Presenting at events, leading workshops, and developing content for the greater design community.

Jan Baker

Jan Baker is a champion of business, tech, social innovation/impact and design. She is the founder of The Innovashion Group, a design firm that uses cultural relevance in the planning and arranging of people, infrastructure, communication of services and experiences (both online and offline) in order to improve its quality without leaving anyone out in the process. Jan loves all things entrepreneurship, tech, mental health, justice & representation initiatives and her sassy dachshund named Honey.

Lucy Joseph

Lucy Joseph works to help consumer product goods companies develop, commercialize, and market new product with FDA authorization. When she is looking to get into some good trouble, you can find her on the dance floor, hiking the nature trails, or whipping up an international dish for family and friends.

Brandon loves to help others rediscover their latent powers of human connection and access the magic within. Over the last decade, he has worn many robes as an organizational mage and serial guild entrepreneur, convening networks and systems using arcane socio-technology and weaves collective social fabrics with community-based service design in mind.

Elaheh Nazari

Elaheh Nazari, /ela:'he/ is in marketing team of Flexiana, a co-developing software and product development company. Ela is new to service designing and she is eager to connect with people and learn more about designing so she would be able to use in Flexiana. When not at work, you can find her either in a wind tunnel or our sleeping in nature.

Chris Hodowanec

Chris Hodowanec Is a Human-Centered Design (HCD) Strategist who leads Human Experience Design (HXD) at Softrams. Chris guides HXD teams across multiple programs to deliver mission-critical products and services to support a wide range of initiatives for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Chris has worked in the federal space for six years and prior to that he worked in the public sector designing digital products for clients such as BMW, State Farm, and Caterpillar.

Sheila Kasasa

Sheila Kasasa is a Senior Service Design Consultant at Capco and a Human-Centered Design Teaching Assistant at IDEO U. Sheila works between the intersection of strategy, design, and education. Living between Morocco and Maryland, Sheila loves to chat about travel, good food, and creating safe spaces for diversity in design.
